Pharmacology

This is a combination of prostaglandin analog-Tafluprost and & beta-adrenergic receptor inhibitor, Timolol Maleate. Tafluprost is prostaglandin analog which is a selective FP prostanoid receptor agonist is believed to reduce intraocular pressure by increasing uveoscleral outflow of aqueous humor. Timolol is a non-selective β-adrenergic receptor blocker. Exact mechanism of ocular hypotensive effect is unclear, but it is thought to be related to reduction of aqueous humor formation.
