Pharmacology
Imidafenacin is an anti-muscarinic agent. Imidafenacin exerts its effects by selectively blocking muscarinic receptors, specifically the M3 subtype, which are predominantly found in the detrusor muscle of the bladder. Muscarinic receptors are a type of acetylcholine receptor that play a critical role in the contraction of smooth muscles, including those in the bladder. When acetylcholine binds to these receptors, it triggers a cascade of events that result in muscle contraction, facilitating the process of urination.
Dosage & Administration
The usual oral dose of Imidafenacin for adults is 0.1 mg twice daily, after the meal. If necessary, the dosage may be increased up to 0.2 mg twice daily (0.4 mg/day) or as directed by the physician. The safety and effectiveness of Imidafenacin in paediatric patients have not been established.

CYP3A4 inhibiting agents such as Itraconazole, Ketoconazole, Erythromycin, and Clarithromycin have the possibility of increased
blood serum Imida concentration, which in turn increases the risk of overdose. Anticholinergic effects of Imida may escalate in case of concomitant administration of anti-histamins, tricyclic anti-depressants, phenothiazines and monoamino oxidase inhibitors may increase the risk of side effects.
